Personal
Meditation
You are invited to light a candle, read psalms and other devotional readings from several traditions, to enter requests in a book for the Christian assembly to pray --to simply find silence, the ancient and contemporary way of meeting the divine, the holy, the mysterious.
Immanuel Lutheran Church has been placed by God into one of the most diverse and densely populated communities in the United States.

As Christianity moves beyond state supported religion, we at Immanuel eschew imperialistic assumptions about evangelism of past Christian outreach and are humbled by the grace of Christ to receive stories of God from others even before bearing witness to our own Christian baptismal identity.

We have begun recreating a rear Nave space immediately accessible to the many people, members and not, especially young parents and caregivers who enter our doors every day, so that they can take a quiet moment to hear God speak to them in the language and life experience they have always known.

Give thanks for the members of the boards of the ELCA Divisions for Church in Society, Outreach, and Ministry, and pray that the Holy Spirit guides them in their decision-making this weekend.
